Instructions to Apply Service Pack 1

Note: If PatchQuest has been installed as a root user in a Linux machine, continue with the below procedure logged in as a root user itself.

Follow steps 1 through 10 to apply the service pack and start working with PatchQuest Build 4310.

  1. Shut down PatchQuest server. (If PatchQuest is running as a service, stop the service)
  2. Please wait for a few moments till the server/service terminates completely
  3. Take a backup of the existing PatchQuest database by executing by creating a ZIP file of the contents of <PatchQuest_Home>/mysql/data directory and save it as database_backup.zip in the <PatchQuest_Home> directory. This step is very important.
  4. Execute the UpdateManager.bat/.sh file present in the <PatchQuest_Home>/bin directory.
  5. Click Browse and select the .PPM file (SP1) that you have downloaded.
  6. Click Install to install the service pack. This may take several minutes depending on the amount of information that needs to be migrated.
  7. Wait until the service pack is fully installed.
  8. Click Finish and then click Exit to exit the Update Manager tool.
  9. Now, traverse to the <PatchQuest_Home> directory and launch PatchQuest.exe. This will invoke the System Tray Icon that allows you to control the PatchQuest service startup options
  10. Start the PatchQuest server service from the System Tray Icon (or) from Start menu --> Programs --> AdventNet SecureCentral PatchQuest 4 --> Start PatchQuest Service menu item.

The service pack is now installed, and you can start working with the latest version of PatchQuest.

How do I find out my Build number?

Log in to the PatchQuest web client, and click the About link in the top pane. You will find the build number mentioned below the version number. This is the build number of the currently installed PatchQuest.
