Configuring and Viewing User Comments

Click on the icon in the menu option that appears on mouse-over icon against the system name, to add or view user comments. Comments provided by a user or administrator about a particular system, can be viewed here. Existing comments can be edited or new comments can be included. This option can be used to specify any information about the patching status, vulnerability status or health of a system.

Viewing Group Names

From the Systems list table you can view the System Groups to which each system has been associated. In order to do this, you will need to enable the 'Groups' column in the 'Edit Column Settings' option in this view (column is disabled by default). If the system is present in multiple groups, the group names will be comma separated.

Viewing computers that operate in agent-based mode

Computers that have agents installed will automatically be added to the setup and will be displayed in these views based on the operating system type. The 'Mode' column in the table will be 'Agent'.

Agent State

The operational state of the PatchQuest agent in the target system i.e. if it is running or it is shutdown (offline) can be seen from the Systems screen. The 'running' state of the Agent is displayed as a green arrow in the Mode column of the table. If the agent is shutdown or offline or if the target system itself is down, the 'offline' state is displayed by a red arrow.

The PatchQuest agent sends an intimation to the PatchQuest server about its operational state, which is maintained in the server. Say, if a shutdown request is sent to the agent in the target machine, before shutting down it the Server will receive a notification and display the state of the agent accordingly.

Incompatible Agent

An agent that is running in a version older than 4.2.0.1 (version 2.0) will show up as an Incompatible Agent. When you see this status, you will need to uninstall this agent and reinstall and start the latest agent (from the 'Download Agent' link in the Home tab) in the respective systems.
