Deleting computers
Systems that have been added for patch management can be removed if necessary
- either permanently (with all their related references) or from system groups
that they are associated with.
Deleting systems permanently from the entire setup
- Visit any of the Systems views (All Systems, Windows, RedHat or Debian)
from the Systems tab
- Select the systems that you wish to delete, using the checkbox
- Click on the 'Delete' button
- Confirming this action will remove all information about the system(s)
from the product.
- You can always 'Add' the system back into the setup, if you wish to manage
it again.
Note for deleting systems that are managed in agent-based mode :
When permanently deleting systems that have PatchQuest agents running, a
signal will be sent to the agents, from the PatchQuest server, requesting them
to shutdown gracefully. If you wish to add these agent machines back into the
setup, simply restarting the agents will do !
Deleting systems from system groups
- Visit the particular system group list view (from System Groups tab) from
which you want to disassociate a particular system or set of systems
- Select the systems using the checkbox
- Click on the 'Delete from group' button
- This will only remove the system from this group, but not from the entire
setup
