Mails can be sent to desired recipients to report completion of certain patch management tasks like scanning of machines for vulnerabilities, patch downloads and patch deployments.
In order to enable this functionality, your enterprise's mail server parameters need to be configured. You can access this configuration from : Settings » Mail Server.
From here, the parameters to be configured are :
1. SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) server hostname/IP Address
2. Port number (default : 25)
3. Username
4. Password
The username and password fields are optional and are required only if your mail server requires you to authenticate yourself.
You can test the connectivity to the Mail Server from the 'Test Mail Server' box on this screen. This test can be executed only after you have saved (clicking the 'Save' button), the mail server parameters.
