AdventNet ManageEngine OpStor manages Fabric switches based on SNIA's standard Fabric management MIBs. In addition, vendor specific MIBs and APIs are used to provide fine-grained management. OpStor automatically discovers fabric switches in your environment.
Once the SAN Switches are discovered, an additional detailed scan is performed to capture the complete set of asset, capacity, performance, and configuration details of the switches. The switch ports are also scanned and the status, configuration, and performance details are collected and stored in the database. With the information from the switch, the devices connected to the switch are also discovered. Fabric partitioning information namely Zones (Brocade Fabric switches) and VSANs (Cisco MDS Fabric Switches) are retreived and depicted in the client.
Performance statistics such as Rx traffic, Tx traffic, RX utilization, Tx utilization, errors, and bandwidth utilization are computed for each port at periodic intervals and reports generated to provide trend analysis.
OpStor monitors status of switches and the ports and raises alarms whenever there is a change in the state. SNMP traps from the SAN switch are also captured and appropriate alarm is generated.
With OpStor, one can perform port level troubleshooting and diagnostics using non-intrusive, SNMP based live graphs capability. Real-time data is collected from the ports and plotted in graphs.
Reports are generated on SAN switch's / port's availability and performance. The reports can be generated for various time periods such as today, yesterday, last N days, last week, this month, last month, and between two selected days. Top N performing switches / ports and Top N available switches / ports can also be reported.
OpStor facilitates configuration by launching device management application within OpStor client and also providing remote telnet window.
OpStor supports SAN switches from the following vendors.
