Prerequisites for Monitoring EMC CLARiiON
- OpStor uses command line utility (NaviCLI.exe) available as part
of NaviSphere suite of EMC CLARiiON installation
- Ensure that NaviCLI is installed in the server in which OpStor is installed
- Include the directory containing NaviCLI.exe in the PATH environment
variable. (This is normally C:\Program Files\EMC\Navisphere CLI\ )
- Ensure that OpStor is restarted (shutdown & started) after including
NaviCLI in the path
- For Performance monitoring, please ensure that setStats flag is enabled.
You can enable the same using NaviCLI command
- NaviCLI -h <array-ip> setstats -on
Steps to add the EMC CLARiiON for monitoring in the OpStor Browser client
- Add the EMC Clariion storage array through the 'Admin tab' --> 'Manage
Storage Devices' link in OpStor Webclient
- Provide the IP Addess of the EMC CLARiiON Array in the "IP Address"
text field
- Choose 'None' option
- Click "Add Device'. This might take upto 30 seconds for completion
- Repeat the above proceedure to add the second array IP in case of dual Storage
Processors
OpStor Remote Proxy Option:
Note :- This is required only if NaviCLI is not installed in the server
running OpStor.
- Go to the server where NaviCli is available
- Download the opstorproxy from here
- Open a new command console and include the directory containing NaviCLI.exe
in the PATH environment variable. (This is normally C:\Program Files\EMC\Navisphere
CLI\ )
- Run the opstorproxy.exe in that console
Now open the OpStor Webclient and add the array IP as follows,
- Navigate to 'Admin tab' --> 'Manage Storage Devices' link in OpStor Webclient
- Provide the IP Address of the EMC CLARiiON Array in the "IP Address"
text field
- Select the "Proxy" radio button
- Provide the IP of the server in which the opstorproxy is running in
the "Proxy IP" field
- Click "Add Device'. This might take upto 30 seconds for completion
- Repeat the above proceedure to add the second array IP in case of dual Storage
Processors
