Prerequisites for Monitoring
- Ensure SNMP agent is running in the Cisco Switch
- OpStor uses snmp port 161 and read community 'public' for discovery. If
your settings are different , please provide the same in the OpStor web-client
while adding Switch.
- Cisco Switch supports both snmp version v2 & v3. Enable v2 for OpStor
discovery.
- Register OpStor server IP address as a trap destination for the Cisco Switch.
- In the Cisco switch CLI interface, use snmp-server host <host_address>
traps command to specify Trap Recipient.
Steps to add the device for monitoring in the OpStor Browser client
- Navigate to 'Admin tab' --> 'Manage Storage Devices' link in OpStor Webclient
- Default 'None' option will be selected
- Provide the IP Address of Cisco switch IP in the "IP Address' text fields
- If the read community is other than "public" , choose 'SNMP' option and
specify it in the "community" field
- Click "Add Device'.
