Windows PowerShell Manage-Local Users Tool

The Manage-LocalUsers utility is an implementation of Microsoft PowerShell. This is a free tool from ManageEngine ADManager Plus, which lists out all the local users in a specified computer and allows to reset the password of local users of that computer. This freeware is basically a PowerShell cmdlet which helps administrators to effectively control the local user accounts of their domain users.

Using the tool:

  1. Click the "Manage-LocalUsers Tool" from the Launcher to start the tool.
  2. Specify the Computer name in the corresponding text field. Local Users specific to that computer will get listed.
  3. Select User whose password needs to be reset and click on the Reset Password button.
  4. Enter the new password in the Reset Password Dialog and click OK. The password for the selected user will be reset provided it meets the password policy and complexity.

Note: You can also use the CSV button and simplify the process by importing a csv file containing the computerName, userName and password parameter values.
